A 55 year old married white female who presented with capsular contractures around gel-filled implants that were inserted 20 years earlier. Note the severe deformities on the oblique pre-operative views. The condition was treated by an open capsulectomy (total removal of ruptured implants together with their surrounding capsules), closing off the lateral space and re-augmentation in a different plane.
