Description:

A 45 year old black female who lost 100 lbs in weight following gastric bypass.The pre-existing vertical scar facilitated side to side tightening in addition to the vertical tightening that happens with every abdominoplasty. The reason we say that a pre-existing vertical scar permits side-to-side tightening is that side to side tightening itself produces an undesirable vertical scar. Here, the new scar simply replaces the old and no new scarring needs to be produced.
