This 37-year-old patient displays extreme ‘ptosis’ (droopiness) of the breasts with asymmetry. Ptosis may occur due to massive weight loss, congenitally stretchy skin or simply old age. It is a common indication for mastopexy (breast lift). When there is preoperative asymmetry the operation has to be modified so the breasts end up looking the same. In this case a small asymmetrical breast reduction was required to balance the breasts.
