Rhinoplasties are performed to correct a number of classic aesthetic complaints, which are well illustrated by the patients in this series. No two patients are the same; and different patients might regard the same ‘deformity’ quite differently. The surgeon must therefore listen carefully to the patient and try not to impose his or her values when performing the surgery.
This patient’s complaint was of a ‘bump’ on the nose best seen in profile. We call this a ‘dorsal hump.’ It was removed through incisions made within the nostrils.
